Today the least, I have been busy. But things are still movng right along in my crochet shop. I still have free shipping till the end of the year(December 31st). Please check out the shop for some great deals!

Thank you so much for following my blog and I will see you a little more in the New Year!

Custom Ordering for Christmas!

Hello Everyone!

I just wanted to send out a friendly reminder that Christmas is creeping up on us and handmade gifts take a little bit longer to produce than mass produced items.

Please take a look at my shop http://aniemancrochet.etsy.com. All the items can be custom ordered.

Or check out my catalog at http://www.lulu.com/content/lulustudio-photo-book/a-nieman-crochet-custom-order-catalog/7615741. You can only view the first 10 pages on this site. If you order one though through lulu I will make you a free set of coasters and matching pot holders.

Afghan/ Blanket cut off day is Oct 30th. These pieces take a longer time to make and to assure their delivery by Christmas that must be started by November.

Please feel free to contact me with any of your questions!

Have a nice day!

New Job

It has definitely been a while since I have last written and a lot has happened. I finally got a new job. I am work as an administrative assistant for the Ohio College of Massotherapy( Massage Therapy). So far I am enjoying myself. It is a lot more work than Dillard's. The schedule is better. I finally have weekends off. The only draw back is that it is another step away from design.

As I started this job I thought it would be a way to make more money, pay off my loans, and learn more about a business. I do find myself missing design and wishing I could pay off my debt enough to really start my own business.

Etsy is doing well for me in the later part of the year. My sales have tripled since last year and I am ready for more.

Right now my current project is my bf's scarf. It is taking me a little longer than I had hoped, but it should be done soon.

One I get settled with my new job and schedule I hope to dedicate more time to Etsy and my crocheting, design and photography.

Coffee Cozies - An EveryDay Eco Change

After ordering your grande coffee with room for cream (or other variety of coffee drink you prefer) you grab a cardboard coffee cozy to keep your paws from being burned by your hot hot cup.

Stop, and think for a moment. Although the cozies are made from mostly recycled paper products, do you recycle them when you are done with your drink? Most people would answer no and I am just as guilty as most.

There is hope though! I along with a variety of other crafters have started making their own versions of of the coffee cozy. These cozies are made out of everything from fabric to yarn. they are attached to key chains and worn as wrist bands.

Here are my versions:

Reusable coffee cozies are wonderful for the environment. The can be used over and over and over again!! If you want to make a small change or take baby steps changing to a reusable coffee cozy is a great way to go.

(These coffee cozies are now on SALE!)

New SALE Items!

Last night I had a pattern revelation and changed how I make my coffee cozies. My original pattern was a circular crochet up the cup. It was a little tricky to make it perfect. I really have a problem when there are problems with my items. Its not that it didn't work but it wasn't the best I could do. It was not the easiest to use and I stopped making them because, I'll admit it, I'm lazy and when things are not streamlined I push them to the side.

So how did I come to the new pattern. It actually started with a long skinny scarf/neck lace. To make those you make a long chain. When worn it looks like the rows are sideways. Then it hit me. Maybe I should crochet the cozies sideways.

So I made my first one and I love it. It covers more of the cup, it is very easy to make and it just looks better. I made one for myself to use and will soon be making many more to sell.

So how does this benefit you? The old ones are on sale! I will be trying to get ride of all the old ones before I bring out the new version. So here's the links to the ones on sale:
