Avant-Garde Art and Craft Show

This coming Sunday I will be participating in my first ever craft show. Also this will be the first time this craft show will be held in Akron. The Avant-Garde Art and Craft Shows have been held in other cities, such as Cleveland, year round. What is nice about these shows is that they showcase talented artists and crafters from around the state and part of the proceeds of the shows go to local charities. Below is the information for this sunday’s upcoming event.

11:00am-6:00pm

Perfect time to finish your holiday shopping! This large show will feature artists and crafters selling their original handmade items at this beautiful venue! The show will also feature a la carte lunch items from Tangier's and a full bar! Admission is free to the public. A portion of proceeds will benefit local animal rescue non-profit Jade's No Kill Rescue for animal rescue. The show is still currently accepting vendors.

The End of Week Two of the Closet Challenge

 Green and brown. I love this shirt but it clings to some of the places I don't want it to. Not something to wear when I am feeling fat.

Kinda reminds me of a pirate a little bit, but this shirt is so comfortable. I also really like my complection when I wear pink. Not to self, buy more pink.

The Great American Apparel Diet

I came across this website after reading an article from TreeHugger. I followed the link, read the rules and decided this would be a great thing for me to partake in. I have an addiction to buying even though I have plenty of clothes in my closet. I am hoping this will force me to make new outfits with what I have as well as decrease my spending habit.


I will admit that part of me joining this diet is to lower my monthly bills. I have way to much credit card debt for my age and it is infringing on my lifestyle. I don't have an extravagant lifestyle but I like to go out every so often with my friends and have a beer or two, or meet friends at the movies. My shopping habits are getting in the way of this.

Inventory Reduction Sale- Name Your Own Price

I have been getting ready to introduce new items into my shop for the new year. Unfortunately there are older items in their way and I cannot post new items till the old ones are gone. So I have decided to have a Name Your Own Price Sale!

During this sale you will be able to choose your item from any of my categories except the Sale categories. After you have chosen the item or items that you would like, convo me with your prices. I will make sure the prices are reasonable and then respond. After approved I will edit the listing with your new price and reserve it for only you!!

You can suggest a price for one or multiple items! Most prices will be accepted!

Catching Up

Today I decided to catch up on some things that I haven't had time for over the past couple months. I have just started a new job that allows me a more structured schedule to work on my Etsy Shop and my crocheting.

It had been about a month since I last uploaded more photo's on to flickr. In my previous post I talked about how I had finally update some old photo's in my etsy shop. So today I added them all to my flickr page. It feels good to have them online and visible for people to see.

Along with that I decided to take a look at my favorites on etsy. I had 197 pages of favorite sellers. I started going through them ( as I haven't looked at them in forever) and realized some of the shops had unfortunately close and some of the items were no longer listed. So this is my current project: updating favorites. It is giving me a chance to see what I liked over the years and what is out there on Etsy. It is also helping me with a little research.

As I am getting use to my new schedule, I hope to a lot more time to my shop and reaching my goal: To be a full time Crochet Designer!

This Christmas selling season I have decided to poor more into my advertising and promotions. For a while I had been getting emails from the IndieBizChicks.com. This is a site that focuses on the business development of women. The majority of the women that follow this site are small business entrepreneurs.

I would definitely recommend this site to anyone interested in some tips from people who have been successful.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Thanksgiving.

It is the beginning of the holiday shopping season and I know all etsy sellers are getting ready for the selling season. Today on the Today Show that today may be the busiest online shopping day of the season! Now I'm not sure if this is correct. I heard that the busiest days are the 12th and the 13th of December. And then there is the every talked about Cyber Monday.

I will be running some sales this Holiday season( like most everyone). So please stay tuned. I hope to be posting daily.

Changes on ANiemanPhotography

Over the past two days I have made a lot of changes to ANiemanPhotography.

Among these changes are:
* Mega bytes added to all digital image listings
* Prices changes on all images
* Links to my policy page for further info and pricing.

I had to make these changes prior to adding anymore images to the shop. I have tons of images to add from both myself and my father.
