My Favorite Site for Great Original Acessories

Part of our fashion looks are what covers less than 10% of our bodies; accessories. They can change a t-shirt and jeans into something really special. The right pair of earring can frame a woman’s face, the right shoes  can make the outfit and so on and so on.

The majority of the women on the TGAAD are removing new clothes from their fashion diet. I on the other hand I decided to go on an extreme diet, not purchasing anything new to add to my whole wardrobe head to toe. No jewelry, no shoes, no leggings, etc etc.

I really want to try to learn to use only what I have to put together my day to day looks. I want to lower my impact on the environment as well as help my bank account.

So that brings me to the point of this blog. While I am not going to buy anything new for my wardrobe that doesn’t mean you won’t so I wanted to pass along my fav site for accessories!

Etsy.com

I not only love this site because I am a shop owner ( ANiemanCrochet and AniemanPhotography) but also because it promotes people selling handmade or vintage goods. There are a variety of different artist using various mediums, the majority of which are small business owners.

Please check out this site and help small businesses and some very talented artists and crafters!

Portrait Project

I was bored yesterday and decided to play with my photo booth on my mac book. I had some fun and I kind of wish I had these photo's back when I did my self portrait project in my photography class at OSU. I guess these wouldn't have been a portrait of me back then and are a better picture of me know.
If you like my photography please check out my etsy shop: ANiemanPhotography

Forgotten Projects Calendar

Today I added the Forgotten Projects Calendar to my blog. If you scroll down just below my blog posts you will see the Calendar. In this calender there will be start and finish dates to all my projects. It is very empty right now but as I start to get a sense of my time line I will be adding projects.

The calendar is one way for me to keep organized as well as for you to track my progress. In my previous posts, one of my biggest weaknesses is my lack of calendar/ planner use. I am horrible with keeping dates organized and things on schedule. This public calendar is a way to keep track of my work and my progress. It is also meant to be a learning tool for other unorganized crafters and small business entrepreneurs.

Please make comments and let me know how I am doing and whether you are finding this series helpful!

Yart Sale- June 11-20

Tomorrow is the official start of the Etsy Yart Sale. A bunch of Etsy sellers have come together to have Etsy's first Yart Sale.

So what is a Yart Sale??

Yart Sale is the the Etsy version of the a yard sale! it is a ten day period of yard sale pricing. Starting tomorrow tons of sellers are reducing prices for this event. Some are offering percentages off other just reducing prices.

This sale is meant to increase sales and exposure for many shops and sellers. The best way to search for yart sales is by using the tag search tool and type "yart" in search box. Also there will be a thread in the promotions section of the forums where sellers will be posting their shops and sales. I will post a link to this tomorrow, right here on my blog.

I am participating and here is a link to the section of my shop:

I hope you have fun shopping tomorrow!

Its Friday!

Well, I don't have too much to talk about today. Its been a pretty uneventful week as far as the shop are concerned. I have had another week of no sales. I really feel that I need to promote myself more, but with the lack of funds to do so it is quite hard.

I know I should be blogging more but I am drawing a blank for what I should be talking about. I need some topics. So I am calling for TOPICS!

Please leave some comments or feedback with some topics you would like me to cover.

Some things about me that you might need to know:
I have a degree in Textiles and Clothing focusing in Residential Design from OSU.
I work at Dillard's full time.
I am the owner of both ANiemanCrochet and ANiemanPhotography.

Thanks for your help!

Selling my Photography as Supplies

Recently I asked for some critiques through the forums of my A. Nieman Photography shop. Someone brought up the fact that some of my statements in my shop policies were unclear. They also poised the question, what if an etsy seller would like to use my art work in theirs.

Here's the answer: I would love to have some use my photographs in their own art work etc. The only thing I ask is that there is full disclosure on where they purchased the photograph. By this I mean that I am given credit within the listing, stating that the artwork used in the item was taken by myself.

I don't think that that is too much to ask. A link to my shop would be appreciated. I would also love to work with the seller and promote them here on my blog. I feel that if they would like to use my photos that it is not only a way for them to promote my shop but for me to promote them. It would be a thank you for their purchase and honesty.

I'm going to start adding the tag of supply to my digital photos for this reason. I think it should give me more exposure and maybe help spark sellers imaginations for the use of my art. My aim is to become a great resource for crafters!

Here are some of my latest additions:

ANiemanPhtotgraphy

I'd like to take a post and promote my other Etsy shop. ANiemanPhotography

Here I sell my photographs as image files. They are priced by file size. ( 1 mb = $1). I also sell prints in various sizes.

I have not had any sales in this shop so I wanted to post a blog and share the thumbnails I use to hopefully increase business.

I am selling the files to be used as either desktop wallpapers, screen savers, or stock photos. They can be used in the ever popular digital photo-frames. All I ask is that you are ethical with their use. You can even get have the images printed yourself.

The file that you buy will not have my copyright on it and it will be much larger in size. This means that it will have better quality for large screens or printing.

I am not very greedy with my photography. I love it and wish to do more of it one day. I think art should be affordable and easily obtained by all.

Please enjoy and have a nice day!

ANiemanPhotography

If you haven't had a chance to look towards the bottom of my blog, I have started to sell my photography on Etsy. I am slowly adding more and more photos.

Please take a look at my shop:
www.aniemanphotography.etsy.com

They are priced by mb. When you purchase the photo in my shop I will send you the original file. Once you have the file you can print it, use it as a wallpaper or use it in a digital photo frame, that have become extrememly popular.

If you would like prints just contact me and I will be more than happy to print them for you. I have yet to put together a pricing chart but hopefully will have one soon. I will post it both here and in my shop.
