One Month Later

So I am supposed to be back at this.... and its been a month since my last post. Whoops.

I think what is causing me to procrastinate is my indecision on what to write about. Do I want to write about design, work, money, fashion, my personal life? Well chances are I'm not going to get much into my personal life beyond myself, there are some things that need to stay private.

So eliminating my personal life, that leaves design, work, money, and fashion. All of which I have interest in or insight in, whether its worth sharing who knows. Am I an expert? No, not really. I am an Interior Designer so that is the only thing that I could call myself an expert at, but I don't believe you get to call yourself an expert until after 10 years of experience(I'm only at about 6).

Realistically don't expect a post from me everyday. I work retail and the hours are so all over the place that it leaves little room for consistency.  Writing here is more about creating consistency than anything else.

Also what should I post about?
What did you enjoy in the past and what would you like to see in the future?

Your feedback is great appreciated!

Organizing

Organizing is a great way to get motivated. An organized home can help anyone be more productive in the new year. I love organizing but when things aren'r organized for ease they can quickly become unorganized again. I find that this is where I often fail in my organizing efforts in my own home.

In an effort to become more organized this year in my home and in my life, I am putting together some of my favorite inspirational organizing tips and projects. My pinterest board Organize has been put together with the goal in mind to get more organized. If you are looking for some inspiration and some motivation follow my board.

Also I wanted to share a sample here of some of my favorite organizing tips. Below are some of my favorite pins.

Happy New Years! My New Years Resolutions

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday! I am glad that you have joined me again in this new year. I am really excited about this year and have many plans for this blog and ANiemanDesign.

Earlier this week I posted on my here a link to a poll I am taking on my Facebook page asking what you would like to see more of from my blog this year. Please take a gander over there and vote if you would! I want to get all the feedback I can get.

This time of year we all think about improving ourselves. I am looking to improve myself and my work. I hope that as you travel with me we can create a dialog on what is working and what is not working.

What improvements are you looking to implement this year?

Please comment below to help us help each other improve and stay on track!

Thank you for reading and welcome to my new readers!

Good Bye Pride Hello Reality

I didn't realize how much pride I really had until now. It took my pride being wounded for me to realize that I am only human. This past Friday I was let go from my job and although I don't agree with their reasonings the fact is the same I have to look for work again.

Getting let go on a Friday gives you a kind of twilight. It numbs you to the reality that awaits you on monday morning. And then comes Sunday night and it starts to seep in to your conscious that “hey, tomorrow your not going to work.” But it only hits you more permanently on Tuesday. Yes Tuesday. Why Tuesday? Because Monday no I’m not going to work but “I’m going to be able to find a job” or there’s the “I’m going to have a little time off and enjoy it and it cant be that bad.”

Then you wake up Tuesday morning after spending a day relaxing, leisurely applying to jobs that sound cool and interesting.  Not that your not taking it seriously but the sense of urgency isn’t biting your ass. Then its Tuesday.

Tuesday is the day when everything sinks in or the depression sets in. Questions bubble in your head such as: Where did I go wrong? and How could I let this happen? Why didn’t I fight more? Am I a failure? Am I an idiot? It becomes to much to take all the while trying to keep your eye on the prize and looking for work, because if you don’t the bills won’t get paid.

Then there’s Wednesday. I woke up this morning and realized this is not going to happen over night. This is a process and I have to do everything I can but I can’t set my expectations high. Being positive is the best thing to do in this situation. Count your blessings and try and be best. This can and will be worse before they get better. Hope can be stronger than pride.

Although my pride has been wounded and talking about it has been hard. Accepting reality is inevitable and needs to happen to learn and grow. This process is something that many seem to be going through and may vary from person to person. But we are all human and have the ability to learn grow and adapt.
