Afghan for Grandpa
At the Avante-garde Art and Craft Show, my husband's grandmother ordered an afghan for his grandfather for Christmas. I wanted to wait until after Christmas to post the pictures of the final project.
This is one of my favorite patterns to do and is a widely used pattern as well; Granny Square. Although the pattern is used a lot, the real artistry is in the color coordination, thats where you can play around and use your imagination.
I love to keep my afghans simple in color and pattern. It is one thing that makes my designs, my designs.
If you would like to custom order an afghan, no two are exactly alike. I can use the same colors as this afghan but the pattern and the square placement will be different. Yet another thing that makes my designs, my designs.
I wanted to explain this so you know what you are getting when you purchase one of my creations, they are original and a work of handmade art.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions!

Last Minute Gift - Button Ornament
So a couple days ago I posted a great ornament idea for the season. I had to make an ornament for my husbands gift exchange at work so I decided to use my own post as my inspiration.
Below is the inspiration picture:

The first thing I did was go to Michaels to pick up the supplies. I already had the ornament balls which I ordered earlier this year for another project. I just needed matching buttons. Most of the buttons I already had were a mismatched assortment. As you see in the picture there are two main colors, purple and green. For mine I found blue and green:
Instead of the paper tree I found these really cool sticky trees while rummaging through the clearance section at Michaels.
Below is the inspiration picture:
Next I needed something to attach the buttons with. For that I needed something clear and sticky. I found this clear drying tacky glue which is perfect! It does take a little time to dry but is clear and the final hold is fabulous!
Next, I sorted the buttons out by color. Green to blue. That way I could just work my way across as I added them on the bulb.
Once sorted it's time to glue! I started at the bottom and worked my way up the bulb. I used green at the bottom: green = grass. And I used blue at the top: blue = sky. Simple but the affect I wanted to achieve.
Once done putting the buttons on, I hung to dry. I wanted it to dry completely before putting on the tree stickies (approximately a couple hours). The stickies were very easy to use, but once you placed them the stuck and if it wasn's quite dry it will peel the buttons off with it if you need to move the placement.
The final step, I added a bow to finish off the top. I found some clearance blue and white ribbon while shopping and just tied a bow through the top near where the hook goes.
And Whala!
Very easy and very in expensive to make! Try it as a last minute gift this Xmas or for a new gift next year!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Toilet Paper Roll Wreath
I have been saving toilet paper rolls for months not to do some sort of project. I will have to try this one!
Snow, Snow, Snow
Its not really Christmas without snow and it looks like this year may be another snowless Christmas. (Sad face). In Ohio you come to expect a snow covered home even if its just an inch during the holidays. We may squeak out with a little dusting prior to the holiday, but the winter wonderland doesn't look promising.
Since that is the case I wanted to get in the mood in another way. This week we are feeling the Holiday spirit Snow Style! And of course there will be fabulous handmade gifts and decorations featured.
Happy Holidays!

Christmas Countdown Cont.
Christmas is just around the corner, and although my house is decorated I have no christmas presents finished. Whoops! Well I still have 12 days left!
Also real quick disclaimer.
Although I would love to be as ubber creative as the creations I feature in my blog, but I'm not. Well I'm creative but I am not the sole creator of the things I post on my blog. Many of the posts and ideas come from other creative artist. Please click on the pictures to visit their websites or blogs!
