Last Week of the Closet Challenge!

Alrighty!  Here are the last week of photo's for the Shopping my Closet Challenge. I will post all the pictures on Pintrest on a board so you can see them all together. I did find out that I have more clothes than underwear and this challenge be a bit longer with a trip to target's intimate section!

I found some bright color in my closet! There is more hiding in there, maybe I need to rotate them to the front.

I love this dress. It's a great denim piece and I love layering it. Denim is always a great base for creating an outfit.

Back to black and grey, but this time a little persimmon in the mix.

It was cold so I definitely needed a 3/4 length shirt underneath this warm beige sweater.

Weekend One of the Closet Challenge

Went out to a club Friday night.  The first time in a long time. The hardest part was to dress warm without being to warm once I was on the dance floor!

Saturday at work, this is one of my favorite winter sweaters.

Don't want to over wear  my dress pants, so I brought out my pleated skirt (a big trend item this year especially in a bright color).

Week One of the Closet Challenge

Here are the first week of pictures in my Shopping my Closet Challenge. Now please keep in mind I may look really angry in some of these pictures, as my previous post stated, I am fighting a cold and these were in the middle of that sickness. 

Day One: Very simple with a pop of color.

Day Two: Brought the teal together with my tanktop and earrings.

Day Three: You are going to have to ignore the shoes. I wear these boots until I get to work where I keep my heels. I have a 30 minute drive and doing it in heels is not preferred.

Day Four: The height of my sickness,  I probably should have called off this day. 

Day Five: Have to admit I need to try this one with a belt to help make me look slimmer in the middle. But such a comfortable outfit.

Just so you know, my days off of work are also my days off from the camera. Although I will be adhering to the challenge I will not be posting pictures of my outfits for those days.

Shopping My Closet

I have decided that I am going to try a new project. I know I have a decent amount of clothes in my closet but I usually wear the same ones over and over again. With money being tight right now I cannot afford to purchase any new clothes until after I have purchased a new car ( oh priorities). Keeping this in mind I am going to go shopping in my own closet!

So the rule is as follows: I cannot do laundry until my underwear drawer is bare.

Quite simply I will wear what is in my closet in various different ways in order to see really what I have as well as what items I could use. By the end what is left in my closet will be either one of two things: 1. things I don't wear anymore either because the don't fit or are just plan ugly. These will be donated. and 2. Summer clothes which I cannot double wear in winter.

Every so often I will document my shopping successes and post them for your to see. And afterwards I will inventory my clothes and of course do some laundry!

Too busy to even shop

I know I haven’t been here to write in a while nor have I had much time to write on my own blog. This with the diet are going alright seeing as I don’t have much time to shop anymore with working 50 hours a week.

I just took a new position at work, I don’t know if I have told you about it or not. My mind is a mess and today has been the first day off that I have actually had a chance to think. So, I am now the store designer at my LaZBoy in Fairlawn Ohio. For those of you who don’t know where Fairlawn is, which I wouldn’t be surprised, it is just outside of Akron, Ohio. 

With taking this new position I realized that I needed to go through my wardrobe and make sure I have outfits that really do say “Interior Designer.” So far so good, but I am making a list of essential items my closet seems to lack. The list isn’t too long yet but I am sure by next September it will be a mile long.

Also while going through my closet I realized a lot of my essentials like spaghetti strapped undershirts are going to fall apart by next September, if not before. Those items are also going on the list. 

I just hope that there aren’t too many things on the list that it negates the whole reason I am doing this in the first place, to save money. It would suck if the money I am saving equaled the amount I would need to spend in September to replace and update my closet. Let hope I save more than that!

TGAAD: New Job and Update on the Diet

In an effort to make some extra money to pay off all my bills and start saving fora new job I signed up to a mark. Rep( my mark. store).  It was very inexpensive to start up and I really enjoy their products, but the only problem is they sell clothing!

I love their clothing and in order to sell it, it would be ideal to have some to wear. Yet, I have decided to stick to my diet and add a ton of those items to my wish list for Christmas, my birthday and 11 months from now.

Besides the temptations in the mark. catalog, I think I have been doing really good so far. There are some things that I have been droooling over on Etsy and at the mall but my purse has remained shut. Like today for example, my fiance Joe and I went shopping for jeans for him. I saw sooo many items I wanted to add to my closet but I was very good. It also helped having him there for support. He also offered to buy me something, something that I really need. Well there are quite a few things that I need but the one thing I reaally need ( and want): a jean jacket.

It would figure that since he was offering to buy me something, we could not find one that was a. in his price range and b. is what I want. The one I really had in mind was at New York and Company and of course they were sold out. After check a couple other stores, nothing. Oh Well, I guess it just wasn’t meant to be.
