Life Change and New Career

Three days left at La-Z-Boy and I am feeling a little bittersweet. It has been a long a tedious three and half years filled with ups and downs. The joys are what I will bring with me and the rest I will leave behind. I have learned a great deal from my time but it is time to part ways.
Am I going in the right direction? Who knows. All I can do is try my best and roll with the punches. Of course I am filled with anxiety as I start out in a new direction, a field I know very little about, in a position I have never worked before. It will be a learning curve but it is worth it.
For the past 5 years I have been working a retail based schedule. Some people work this schedule all there lives and I commend them for their ability to handle it. The retail life is not for me though. It takes a lot of time away from family and friends and the strain on myself especially has been overwhelming and no longer tolerable. I value my time with my family and my new husband and the world I was working in before did not mesh with those values.
Now I will be working a 8-5 Monday thru Friday job that allows me to come home at a reasonable time at night, have weekends off and celebrate holidays with my family. It is not in my field but there are sacrifices we have to make to obtain the desired lifestyle we want.
Now that I will not be tied to a company where I could not work on design project outside of my work you will be hearing more from me. I cannot give up design which leaves this blog as my main outlet for the time being. That being said, I would like to thank all of my readers for your patronage to my blog, and I hope you will continue to read and follow. I hope I can keep you interested and help you learn something new about the world of design.

Adding Interest with a Custom Ottoman

When helping my clients find the perfect fabric for their sofa's, I have noticed that the majority of my clients shy away from patterns on large pieces. One of the best ways to add a little pattern into your room without committing to a large pattern on your main piece is by adding an ottoman.

Our most popular ottoman at LaZBoy is called the Cory, with a lid that lifts for extra storage and casters to easily move around the room. I have made some visualizations of the Cory in some fun accents fabrics. Ottomans are great for solving your storage problems, adding extra seating and adding a little extra interest to your space.

The Pinnacle Recliner

The Pinnacle recliner is one of the most popular recliners in the LaZBoy line. It is a medium size recliner that seems to fit most people. It is not too big or too small. It looks great in both leather and in fabric. And most importantly is a comfortable genuine LaZBoy!

Here are some different ways you can customize your Pinnacle!

What Else is Available at Your Local La-Z-Boy Furniture Gallery?

La-Z-Boy is very product of it’s brand recognition being number one in the furniture industry. Most people associate the word La-Z-Boy with a recliner and even call the competition’s recliners lazy-boy’s because the think that another name for a recliner is lazy-boy.

If you have never sat in a genuine La-Z-Boy before than you do not know what you re missing. For those of you who have sat in one you know that there is no competition to their comfort. Most people that walk into a La-Z-Boy furniture gallery come in specifically for the recliner and recognize little of what the gallery has to offer other than recliners.

La-Z-Boy furniture has a great reputation for being well made and comfortable. but did you know your La-Z-Boy could be stylist too? Over the next couple of weeks I would like to introduce you to several products that my La-Z-Boy Furniture Gallery in Fairlawn Ohio offers other than recliners. There are a variety of design services that would be utilized by more people if they just knew about them.

I invite you to come visit me at anytime in person at the Fairlawn La-Z-Boy Furniture Gallery. We are located at the corner of Cleveland Massillon and West Market Street, next to the Circle K.

I hope to see you soon!
