News Article to Read

I found this interesting:

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/12/23/business/23craft.html?_r=1&adxnnl=1&adxnnlx=1230044649-E0l6G3c7v/6NFFTP6hmgXw

I think that this article says a lot about the crafting industry and this Christmas seaon in particular. One Etsian remarked that it made crafting seem cheap. Do you think that this is giving crafting a bad name? Or is this good press for crafters and handmade artists?

Let me know what you think.

Important Issue for Children's Toys!

I wanted to draw your attention to this important petition that I recently signed:

"Save Handmade Toys in the USA from the CPSIA"
http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/handmadetoys?e

I really think this is an important cause, and I'd like to encourage you to add your signature, too. It's free and takes less than a minute of your time.

Thanks!

The next seller is Amanda from SoulShineJewels. She is located in Maryland.

Her Etsy Shop is Shop
http://soulshinejewels.etsy.com. Her myspace is http://www.myspace.com/lettingyoursoulshine and her website is http://www.soulshinejewel.com.

Items Sold:
She sells all types of my jewelry in holistic, healing shops and spas and yoga/Pilates studios. She just started on etsy and sold 6 pieces, sea glass, and
heamitite jewelry.

What makes your shop eco-friendly or organic based?
I live a green life from the food I eat, to the products I use on my body, and the products I clean with. I grow an organic garden every year and raise organic egg laying chickens; my dogs eat natural food too!(*organic puppies rock Amanda!*) My sheets on my bed are even organic. I believe in recycling and reusing as much as possible. I try to help and give back to mother earth! And my jewelry is made with nature’s bounty and organic pieces!

What do you do everyday that is green?
Everyday I eat organic, use organic body care and clean organic. I recycle and reuse.
