Happy Earth Day! Did you know you can Green your LaZBoy?!

In honor of Earth Day I wanted to inform you of a new line of green furniture available at La-Z-Boy. As many people who have owned a La-Z-Boy recliner can attest to, they last a long time as long as 20 years in some cases. They are built to last, with a engineered hardwood four sided frame to a mechanism and part made from steel. Not only are these elements apparent in their recliners but also in our full line of furniture. Part of being sustainable is the ability to last for years to come.

Another part of being sustainable is the impact of the environment. La-Z-Boy recently introduced two ways to make their furniture more eco-friendly. You can custom your furniture with either Eco-Comfort cushions or Eco-Comfort fabrics, or both!

The new line of Eco-Comfort fabric line is full of fun patterns and great solids. Tested and approved by Oeko-Tex, the world’s definitive ecological certification process, our EcoComfort fabrics utilize environmentally friendly materials. As a matter of fact, our EcoSuede fabric actually utilizes the plastic of one recycled water bottle for each yard of fabric, reducing waste and pollution.

The Eco-Comfort cushions are made from soybeans. The are a great eco-friendly product and they are just as comfortable as our traditional cushions. And because they are created from soy, which is a renewable resource, they leave a smaller environmental footprint.

If you like to see more styles that can be upgraded to Eco-Comfort please contact me or visit me at the La-Z-Boy Furniture Gallery in Montrose! Ask for Alison!

Where’s The Green?! Why you need plants in your home.

House plants can be overwhelming to some people because of the amount of care that can go into taking care of them. House plants don’t have to be overwhelming and can be accessible to those that lake a green thumb. How you ask?

Not all house plants have to be real. Fake plants or a term I prefer: permanent botanicals, are a great way to add life to your space without having to devote a ton of time. There are a wide range of different plant species available in permanent form.

Individual pricks of flowers can be found at craft stores such as Michael's and Jo-Ann Fabrics. You can pick and choose for a personalized bouquet, that will last for a long long time. I have found that the best time to purchase these are at the end of the seasons when they are making room for new items. This gives you the best deal! I also find that when I pack it away with my season items I often forget that I bought it and it’s a wonderful surprise.

So what if your not even sure that you can put together a bouquet yourself. Don’t worry! Many places sell permanent botanicals pre-arranged. You can choose from flowered plants to evergreen evergreens.

I bet you may not have noticed that when you were last in a furniture store that there were permanent botanicals everywhere! Did you know that they were for sale too? At my La-z-Boy store I have tons of arrangements that are at some great prices. Not many people come in to La-Z-Boy just for plants but they may be missing on a great deal they never knew existed.

Come and see me at the La-Z-Boy in Montrose and I will help you add some green and life to your space!

Have a wonderful day!

Why did La-Z-Boy Furniture Gallery of Northeast Ohio Hire 7 New Employees This February? The New Nesting Trend

A new trend has been appearing in this economic climate that has been a good thing for specialty furniture retailers. People are not only looking for the best value for their money but they are also looking for new ways to brighten up their living spaces.

More and more families are tightening their budgets and staying at home. Going out to dinner and the movies can be expense and there is a trend right now to stay at home or nest. Nesting can be a great way to save a little money and become closer as a family.

La-Z-Boy has noticed a trend of families coming into their showrooms looking to re-do their family rooms because the noticed their sofa, love-seat or recliner have seen better days. They figure they will be spending more time in their family rooms and want to invest in their homes.

Consumers are not only looking for a great deal but even more important a great value. Furniture can be beautiful and cheap but will it last you for 10 years?? Chances are if you buy furniture at drastically low prices your furniture will not be lasting more than a couple years. This is why people are coming into La-Z-Boy.

La-Z-Boy’s furniture is built to last. When I started telling people I was hired by La-Z-Boy there was an overwhelming response of “they make great furniture” or “their furniture really lasts.” With not much money to go around people want something that they do not want to worry about in the long run.

This February I was part of a 7 person training class. I never expected this many people to be hired on at once especially in this economy. As we started out three week training course I came to realize that this company really cares. They care that we are prepared when we hit the sales floor, that we know our product, that their furniture is quality and full of value. I have never had this much training for a position and I wish more companies approached their sales training in this way.

La-Z-Boy sincerely wants you to find the best furniture for your house and family. They have prepared us to answer your question from day one and to show you the value in our furniture. There is a sense of security in this statement. We want you to know that everything about your furniture. There is nothing to hold back. I feel very secure in my company and I hope you will too.

Please come and see me at the La-Z-Boy in Fairlawn Ohio and I will help you design your nest for comfort and longevity!
